Hello! I’m Helen, creator of The Slow Down Collective

I’m so delighted that you found our corner of the internet dedicated to all things slow.

In 2019, burnout, anxiety and panic attacks led to me being placed on a 12-month waiting list for talking therapy (CBT). Waiting that long to feel better wasn’t an option. I needed to find ways to help me feel better…

So I started searching. I read lots, visited a nutritionist, had some reiki, learned about sleep, went to a cacao ceremony, started exercising more…the list goes on! And over time by slowing down, tuning in and making lots of small changes I started to feel more ‘me’ again.

The Slow Down Collective was born out of a deep passion to help others find ways to slow down too.

When my anxiety was at its worst, I remember so clearly thinking that all I wanted was an ‘anxiety toolkit’ that I could pick up to try to find some answers.

Which is why the thing that I’m MOST proud of creating is our Slow Moments cards.

These are prompts, ideas and inspiration brought to you in collaboration with wellness experts to encourage you to press pause and assess what YOU need. In each pack you’ll find affirmation cards, recipes, journal prompts and suggestions to encourage you to slow down and prioritise you.

They’re your toolkit of resources to use whenever you need them. This isn’t about quick fixes, it’s about creating positive daily habits.

And the beauty of the cards is that you can ‘pay it forward’ and pass the card onto a friend who may benefit from it too.

These cards are available to buy in standalone sets - they’re beautifully designed and feel luxurious to hold but more important than all of that they’re jam-packed with ideas and inspiration of how to live life at a slower pace that you can turn to time and time again.

How to use your Slow Moments cards

Here are some ideas for you to get the best from your collection:

  • Keep the cards on your bedside table and take a moment each evening to turn over a new card and consider its message. How can you weave some of the ideas into your day to day life so they become daily habits?

  • Pop your affirmation cards up on the mini easel in a place where you’ll see them frequently (I keep mine on my desk). Rotate the cards every few days and take a moment to consider the affirmation and how it speaks to you that day.

  • Download our Slow Sounds playlist and set aside some time to quietly browse the cards while listening to the playlist, tuning into the cards that are calling to you right now.

  • Head over to our Instagram profile to watch live videos with our expert collaborators to bring the card content to life even more.
